Lunchbox Lesson #1 - The St. Lawrence Seaway
On Wednesday, April 28th Schoharie Crossing welcomed St. Lawrence County Historical Association Executive Director, Ashley
Maready to present an
overview history of the St. Lawrence Seaway, including its construction,
operation, and significance. This engineered waterway from the Great Lakes to
the Atlantic changed the way cargo moved from the interior of North America to
the global marketplace during the mid-20th century. Watch the video below to discover its
impacts on New York and the far-reaching implications of a newer canal channel.
