The Friends of Schoharie Crossing and the site are grinding on through the planning process for a wonderful 2015 season as well as long term goals for the 2017 new exhibit and remodel. Currently the site doesn’t have any events scheduled until April, however if you are fiend’ing for some great local historical happenings we have put together this little list:
The Friends are also pretty excited to be learning that Schoharie Crossing will be interviewed for two upcoming podcast!Some of you may be familiar with The Historians w/ Bob Cudmore - local author, radio personality and historian. Education Coordinator, David Brooks will be interviewed by Bob regarding the site events and the 1869 Diary of an unknown Fort Hunter resident. We will let you know when the podcast is up for your listening pleasure, but please check out the great episodes already posted.
Also, Ben Franklin's World host Liz Covart will be speaking with Site Manager, Janice Fontanella in April and we certainly look forward to that interview as well! Covart is an historian of early America and has a strong interest in the social as well as cultural history of the Revolutionary and Early Republic periods. Definitely check out the wonderful podcasts up on the site already and we'll keep you posted when Janice will be on.
